LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Elizabeth Mikesch
I specialize in supporting women navigating the emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and balancing full-time work, as well as women healing from trauma and experiences of violence. I am here to help you rewrite your story and reconnect with the version of yourself you want to be.
A message from Elizabeth
I like to keep a quote by Ram Dass in mind when I think about my approach to therapy: “We’re all just walking each other home.” I see myself as someone “right there” beside you as you navigate making sense of your life in a way that reflects who you are and what you need to build a more empowered future aligned with your values.
To me, the therapeutic relationship is about witnessing, supporting, and helping identify alternative approaches or paths we may not see clearly on our own, especially when we’re overwhelmed by responsibilities to others. It’s also about highlighting strengths, themes, and patterns so we can become more intentional and aware of our instincts. Healing takes the time that it takes, but I wholeheartedly believe that therapy works and that change is possible when we’re ready.

As a person with a background in the arts, my career change came about from wanting to blend my love of creativity with my sincere passion for witnessing transformation and healing in others. Additionally, becoming a parent myself deepened my desire to support people through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting journeys.
For the past decade, I have worked specifically with women whose lives have been impacted by pregnancy and parenting, both as a writer and educator, as well as with survivors of trauma. As a provider, I aim to reflect a client’s story back to them so they can begin the rewarding work of rewriting their own understanding of who they are today and how they arrived here.
Sometimes this means delving into deep conversations, and other times it may involve mindfulness, relaxation techniques, or expressive arts to encourage self-exploration and understanding. Building a therapeutic relationship takes time, trust, and transparency, and I am always eager to adapt to what is best for each client based on where they are in the present moment. Clients can expect a warm, grounding presence from me in session and an approach that encourages embodied conversations about what we bring into the room. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, feminist therapy, and strengths-based practices.
